The church was meeting in a 21’ x 14’ tin shed, but last February’s team helped in the construction of a nice 24’ x 18’ block building.
In 2009, a Christian school was started there in the village.
Prior to the devastating earthquake on January 12, 2010, a group led by Chuck Perry was scheduled to go to Haiti in February (15-25) and help with work on the school. Not long after the school launched last fall, it became apparent there was a need for more space.
However, the recent national disasters have modified plans. The returning team is unanimous about rendering assistance wherever needed.
While the village of Dufailly was spared epicenter troubles, several nearby towns did receive damage. Transportation is challenging and many places are without electricity.
Through our team and Yvrose’s family and friends, we will provide a base for operations near Dufailly to provide food for people who’ve been left homeless.
As a nurse, Yvrose will also set up a medical clinic during the trip. Since many schools are not functioning, we will address some of those issues. We believe a few evenings of church services will be spiritually beneficial during the oppression of physical loss and pain.
We’re trusting God will guide us to be a blessing to others in ways we don’t yet know of.
We need your prayers, support, insights and words of advice.

Other Haiti News
In July (1-15), we will have a team helping Eddy & Mirlande Bazin (Preaching Christ to the Multitudes), in the city of Port-au-Prince as the city recovers from the massive earthquake that rocked the island on January 12, 2010. So far, there have been 15 people reported dead from Eddy’s church in Haiti.
Our Global Bible School contact in Haiti, Dr Sule Jean Marcel, reports major damage at his church and school in the Carrefour-feuilles area of Port-au-Prince.
We hope to be able to help Dr Sule in some way, too. |
